Carl. I would agree that first world (and lots of other) nations tend toward racism, both historically and currently. And some are doing a better job of addressing those foundations in their policies and culture than others. In the U.S. we still think the “founding fathers” were doing an admirable job. We’ve not begun to critique our own history and founders as complex and flawed, let alone deciding what would be useful, kind and responsible now.

Otherwise, your comment here is just using my essay as a platform to state your (rather unfounded) opinions on why Trump won. That’s not what my essay is about. It’s about what we will do now. And yeah, that’s not whining and wasting time and energy at all, as you accuse. It’s about what we will do now (both emotionally and actually). Just like the title says.

This was a great read! Although it does make me sad, as the last year or so I’ve been trying to take writing more seriously, taking it more as a goal than a hobby, but the more I do the more it seems it’s VERY hard to get paid for it haha.
